African Business Development Gets the Attention of US Civic & Business Leaders For Immediate Release Atlanta, GA July 13, 2006 An effort to connect GA businesses with their African counterparts is underway. Some area civic & business leaders have formed a company, the African Business Alliance, Inc. The company, headquartered in Johns Creek, GA, is a non-profit organization formed to help African countries improve their image and attract investments. Announcing the formation of the company, the founder Prince Sobem Nwoko said the company's efforts will center on mobilizing resources to increase Georgia's participation in the vast markets of Africa. He is asking forward looking GA businesses wanting to explore opportunities in Africa to get involved. He said the company has various plans in the works but "must take things one idea at a time. Africa is vast place." In the immediate future the company is especially interested to help drive investments by working to improve Africa's image locally. In the end, he continued, “these initiatives, will create jobs and increase output for GA and the African nations that choose to participate. It will help the nations' competitive standing in a rapidly changing global economy.” Prince Nwoko said that many nations of Africa have daunting challenges. However, he believes these challenges are surmountable though overcoming them would require governments and citizens with can-do attitudes. Some countries have made tremendous progress against the odds. They are advancing democracy, addressing deficiencies and building robust economies. However, foreign investments have not kept pace. Prince Nwoko further stated, “We are optimistic and must work hard to change the status quo.”
