EABC Launches Awards Program for Media

KAMPALA-The East African Business Council (EABC) has launched annual awards aimed at rewarding excellent reporting on the East African business and integration issues. The awards were launched in Nairobi recently before media owners and executives.

“If the regional integration process is to succeed, it must become the agenda of all critical agencies of mobilisation and none is more powerful than the media,” said the EABC chairman Abid Alam during the launch.  He explained that the media must, however, be facilitated and encouraged.  He said the awards will be used to raise awareness within the media about the integration issues and its role in facilitating awareness and integration.
